Rental Opportunities

Groundbreaking for the Woman’s Club took place on August 10, 1889. The building was a wedding gift from the couple’s parents to the newlyweds. Today, the house is used as an elegant location for private parties, be it a bridal or baby shower, or even a small wedding. Each party may designate their own caterer.

The Buffalo architectural firm of Green and Wicks was hired to draw up the original plans for the house. The local building firm of Constable Brothers was awarded the contract to build the house. The total costs to build the house was $60,000; a monumental sum in those days.

No detail was spared in the meticulous construction and preservation of the mansion:

  • The turret is of Queen Anne Victorian design.
  • The foyer is laid with imported tile.
  • A central hall leads to a billiard room that can be separated with sumptuous drapery.
  • Original built-in cue stick holders can still be seen in the billiard room.
  • A hidden drawer below the stairs housed the rack for the billiard balls.
  • Each room boasts a unique, magnificently carved fireplace.
  • The dining room adjoins a butler’s pantry which in turn leads to the downstairs main kitchen via a back stairway.
  • A dumbwaiter, no longer in service, reminds us of times gone-by.
  • The mantel in the dining room was hand-carved onsite in the workshops of Constable Brothers.
  • The library is finished in hazelwood with built-in bookcases and the turret occupies the northwest corner of the room.
  • The parlor is finished in white maple and the ceiling is finished in gold trimmings.
  • Ascend the grand staircase and look out the carved Juliet balcony with a stunning leaded glass window as a backdrop.

Rental Rates (not including sales tax) are listed below (includes setup and take down).

MAIN FLOOR (Meeting and Billiard Room Capacity – 60 seated at tables; 75-100 seated without tables; 135 standing)
$400.00 for 1-75 people for four (4) hours

 

$450.00 for 76+ people for four (4) hours

 

$80.00 for each additional hour or part of

 

$75.00/hr. entrance other than the day of the event (minimum of $150.00)
TEA ROOM (Room Capacity – 30 seated at tables only)
$250.00 for 1-30 people for four (4) hours
 
$80.00 for each additional hour or part of

WEDDING CEREMONY AND/OR RECEPTION PACKAGE
$1000.00 for all weddings; this includes eight (8) hours that may be used the day of or any combination of before or after.
$80.00 for each additional hour (minimum of two (2) hours and $150.00)
 
Includes the use of the third floor, which contains four (4) bedrooms for dressing and preparations.
All wedding arrangements should be discussed with the Woman’s Club representative ahead of the event.

 

Policies:
The Woman’s Club is a non-smoking facility.

Being an older home, there is no air conditioning, therefore it can be warm in the summer. Please consider this when booking a party.
